The Nomination Process

The Research Associates Committee overseas the nomination of new Research Associates as follows:
Nominations take place every other year (alternating with Fellowship elections)
All current Research members (comprising ECGI Fellows and ECGI Research Associates) are invited to suggest nominations for new Research Associates
In this process, Research members are reminded that there are two types of  Research Associate, economists and lawyers, and that nominations for both are being sought
Prospective Research Associates should be academics who are active in the field of corporate governance research and have an interest in European corporate governance issues
The Committee reviews all the nominations, if necessary through voting on a short-list of candidates
The Committee selects a number of names that are put forward to the Board for approval
Successful candidates are then invited by letter signed by the Committee Chairman to become an ECGI Research Associate
On acceptance, the new Research Associates  automatically become Research Members of the Institute
The names of the new Research Associates are announced at the following General Assembly
